Indigent Cemetery Project

In collaboration with the students, teachers, and leadership of the Rhode Island Training School (RITS), T-Time has undertaken a restoration project focused on the historical indigent cemetery located on the RITS property. Planned activities include:

- Cleaning of the cemetery/gravesite area

- Conduct research, including resources/materials within the RI state archives, to learn more about the lives of the individuals buried in the cemetery and the State's policies and practices regarding indigent persons

- Exploration of the burial practices of various cultures

- Exploration of the indigenous history of land on which the cemetery sits

Our goal is to ultimately create a curriculum resource/module about the cemetery which can be shared digitally with people throughout the country.
